Ready for a sea change? Head to a retirement village

0

Aussies are known for their love of the beach – and retirement villages and Land Lease Communities are looking to cater to the demand.

The latest example: the new $160 million redevelopment of the Harbord Diggers Club by Mounties Group in Sydney.

Set right on Freshwater and Curl Curl beaches, the re-designed site will be an intergenerational community with restaurants, bars, sporting facilities, health services and a childcare centre.

The only residential building will be the retirement village – known as Watermark Freshwater – with 96 high-end apartments priced from $1.5 million.

And they’re selling – 73 have already been sold off-the-plan.

Location, location, location

Check out this 3D animation video of the development here. It really is the next level of retirement living.

But it’s not just high-end retirement developers that are building by our beaches. Many village developers and LLCs are putting their new sites in prime waterfront locations.

In Coffs Harbour, the Bachrach Naumburger Group has put forward plans to build a seven-storey retirement village and aged care development just 100 metres from the beach.

Meanwhile, Land Lease developer Seachange Lifestyle Resorts recently snapped up another waterfront site in Upper Coomera on the Gold Coast for its next community.

So in addition to a beachside lifestyle, you’ll have all the benefits of living in a community where you have friends and support close to hand.

Sounds like a dream retirement to us.
