With assisted dying legislation due to face the Victorian Government in the coming months, Victorian nurse Jen Barnes is leading the debate on who should decide how we die.
Jen has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. With 40 years’ experience as a nurse, she has seen a lot of deaths – some far from ideal – and she wants a choice for herself and her family.
“Palliative care is very good but I know that it doesn’t work for everybody. If it comes to it, I will want another option,” she says.
Research shows around 75 per cent of Australians support a safe and compassionate law, but Jen needs your help if the legislation is to be passed.
