Around 400 members of the society – which only accepts people with an IQ in the top two per cent of the population – had been staying at the Elite Hotel (pictured) in Eskilstuna for their annual conference.
But the last night turned rowdy with members drinking alcohol in the corridors, breaking into a locked conference room and even climbing up on the roof, according to local paper Eskilstuna Kuriren, forcing hotel security to call police.
There were no arrests made, but that didn’t stop Mensa Sweden’s Chairman Monika Orski from blasting members in a private Mensa Facebook group.
“You are a disgrace, and deserve no better than bloody idiots,” she wrote.
Mensa Australia’s website says it exists to “identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity” and “provide a stimulating intellectual and social environment for its members.”
Clearly the Swedes need a reminder.
