It’s the real deal, says Campbell Jones, 21, of Perth, who snapped this picture as he was cycling around Western Australia’s Rottnest Island.
Stopping to grab a ‘selfie’ with the marsupial, Mr Jones got the surprise of his life as he walked back to his bike.
“The quokka chased after me,” he told PerthNow. “I put down the GoPro and it jumped at me as if to say ‘come back’.”
Unsurprisingly it’s now gone viral – nice to show the world that some of our wildlife is actually friendly.
