Guess which capital is being left off the latest Australian Monopoly board?

Here’s a clue – it’s not Hobart.

Rather, it’s Adelaide that hasn’t made the cut.

The Australian edition of the world-famous game is being updated and fans around the world have been asked to vote for their favourite Australian locations, with a shortlist of 40 vying for 22 positions on the board.

But while the Barossa Valley, Flinders Ranges and Kangaroo Island made the cut for South Australia, its capital has failed to get a mention – because its Tourism Board didn’t get around to nominating it.

Of course, the final board might look quite different if you could vote for some of Australia’s more colourful place names – sadly Rooty Hill won’t be getting a look-in.

Voting is open until November 22.
