Perhaps you’ve heard of people being vaccinated out of a bus, or at uni, or at a brewery – but now Victorians can get their COVID-19 shots at a quintessentially Australian location: Bunnings Warehouse.
The State Government is hosting pop-up vaccination clinics at more than 20 sites across outer metropolitan and regional Victoria starting from this week, with the first opening up between 8am and 1pm in the following locations:
- Anzac Parade, Wodonga (16 to 19 March)
- Cnr Cheltenham Rd and Springvale Rd, Keysborough (16 to 20 March)
- High St, Melton East (16 to 20 March)
More locations are planned, and Victorians will be able to turn up without a booking to receive first, second, and third doses; Pfizer jabs will also be available for kids aged 5 to 11.
Victorian Health Minister Martin Foley says the Government will also be looking to deliver vaccine pop-ups at venues and events such as the Queen Victoria Market, the Elmore Tractor Pull, and sporting facilities around the state.
“The vaccine is the most important tool in the COVIDSafe toolkit and now you can get it at Bunnings. We’re proud to work with this iconic Australian business to get more jabs in arms.
“These pop-ups will be opening across Victoria, but they will focus particularly on areas with fewer GP and less pharmacy access,” he said.
Just make sure the pop-up clinic isn’t offering the vaccine “with or without onions”.
