We know you were worried after last week’s harrowing story, but we at The Donaldson Sisters have some good news for you: Portland Pickles mascot Dillon T. Pickle has been found safe and well.
Dillon (pictured, centre), who was stolen several weeks ago from outside the Oregon baseball team’s offices, was found by an anonymous benefactor on a bus, who said they saw some kids playing with a duffel bag; once they left, the rescuer found Dillon in the bag and dropped him off at Voodoo Donuts, one of many local businesses that had offered a reward for his return.
“It’s incredible to see our community come together to get the word out about our missing pickle. We would not have him back if it wasn’t for the amazing people of Portland and Pickles fans around the world,” said Pickles co-owner Alan Miller.
The team’s General Manager, Ross Campbell, added that Dillon had sustained only minor damage during his pickle-napping.
“Luckily we can put him back into The Pickle Jar to replenish his health,” he said.
The good Samaritan who returned Dillon even went so far as to decline the myriad rewards on offer, and – while we’re not sure how they’ll get on without $1,000 worth of Wickles Pickles, and though Dillon’s abductor remains at large – we do have to say: all’s dill that ends dill.
