An insight into some of the perks available to residents of retirement villages to ensure they can stay mobile and active in their community.
Bolton Clarke’s soon-to-be-opened vertical retirement village, Europa on Alma, at the beachside suburb of St Kilda, 6km southeast of Melbourne’s CBD, will have its own electric car and charging bays.
The Not For Profit retirement living and aged care provider is the first retirement village operator to strike an agreement with electric vehicle start-up Ohmie GO, who will provide, for a fee, a Tesla 3SR+ electric for the exclusive use of residents at Europa on Alma.
Bolton Clarke General Manager Property Development James Mantis said he was excited to announce the agreement, which he sees as one of a number of innovations designed to “future proof” Europa on Alma.
“Residents will be able to book use of the share car directly through the Ohmie GO app on their smart phone or iPad, or via the concierge,” said Mr Mantis.
“It makes sense to provide this additional option for those who may want to make the change from being a two-car family, or who don’t want the hassle of maintaining a vehicle with registrations.”
