You might have had a few too many at some point in your life – but have you ever been “joined your own search party” drunk?
That’s what happened to a 50-year-old construction worker (pictured) in Turkey, who wandered into a forest after a night out drinking with friends, then stumbled onto a search party scouring the woods and decided to join them – only to realise it was his own search party when they started calling his name.
“Don’t punish me too harshly, officer,” he reportedly told rescue workers. “My father will kill me.”
Believe it or not, this isn’t the first time someone has helped searchers look for themselves: a story from Iceland in 2012 relates how a woman on a bus tour changed her clothes, only for nobody on the bus to recognise her, leading to her joining 50 people to search for herself until 3am.
At least it was good exercise.
