What a fantastic idea!

Development and construction company Planix Projects has been experiencing great success with its ‘Adopt a Grandparent’ initiative, launched to help combat isolation and loneliness in the elderly.

The program was started in 2020 and a statement from the company said the positive impact on both the elderly and volunteers was gratifying.

Volunteers and their adopted grandparents engaged together online during the COVID-19 lockdown, to keep everyone safe.

But last week many got to meet for the first time, like Oliver Oulsnam and Robert from the Royal Freemasons’ Benevolent Institution’s Bellingen Masonic Village got to finally shake hands in person (pictured). – a beautiful moment!

The program was part of the company’s Rebuild 2020 Initiative and is set to continue and anyone wishing to get involved can do so by emailing aag@planix.com.au for more information.

We for one are in support of such a wonderful initiative that brings people together!
