Planning a post-pandemic holiday already? Don’t restrict yourself to planet Earth!
A new construction company has audacious plans to open a luxury hotel in space, and they’re eyeing a 2027 open date – just six years away!
Orbital Assembly Corporation’s Voyager Station is aiming to be the world’s first luxury space hotel with space for 280 guests and 112 crew members.
Former pilot John Blincow, who runs the company, says the general public can expect the golden age of space travel to be just around the corner.
“It’s coming. It’s coming fast,” he told CNN in an interview.
The big question is – how much is it going to cost you?
Well, Orbital Assembly isn’t releasing room rates just yet, but don’t expect it to be cheap.
For example, the team at Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic is planning to give passengers a space experience at the rate of $250,000 per person, per trip.
Who knows how much room service would cost – we’re not even going to think about early checkout. Saving enough money for a trip seems a final frontier in and of itself.
