Just when you thought we’d heard the last of former US President Donald Trump.
The reality TV star/former Twitter troll/former Leader of the Free World has set up shop in Palm Beach, Florida, where he’ll operate the ‘Office of the Former President’.
While it seems like a far cry from the White House, according to a released distributed to journalists, the office is aiming to “carry on the agenda of the Trump organisation,” through “advocacy, organising and public activism”.
A former President taking on some extra duties after their White House days is not particularly unusual – Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter all maintained offices or foundations after their time in the Oval Office.
But it will be interesting to see how committed Mr Trump is to his new station, or whether he’s a bit more interested in the back nine at his nearby golf course.
Based on the last few months of his Presidency, you’d have to assume the latter.
