Only in America: Trump compares US to ‘third world’ countries due to election result

US President Donald Trump has likened the nation to a ‘third world’ country in response to the 2020 Presidential election, which he claims was ‘rigged’.

Trump made the comments during a ceremony to award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to coach and wrestler Dan Gable at the White House on Monday.

“It’s like a third world country…these ballots pouring in from everywhere, using machinery that nobody knows ownership, nobody knows anything about,” the President said.

Trump and many other Republicans are still alleging widespread voter fraud in the 3 November election, but it hasn’t stalled Democrat Joe Biden’s preparations to take office on January 21.

“If you look at the polls, it was a rigged election. You look at the different states. The election was totally rigged,” the President said.

Despite the repeated claims from the Republican Party, many lawsuits trying to void various States have been thrown out of court in the weeks since the election.

Electoral College voters are now set to meet and cast their vote on the election result next week.
