Giddy up! Aged care residents enjoy a memorable horse drawn carriage ride

Aged care residents at Jemalong Retirement Village in Forbes, a rural NSW town about 400km west of Sydney, have been treated to a lovely horse drawn carriage ride through the countryside as part of Catholic Healthcare’s My Wish program.

The Not For Profit created the My Wish program to give residents the opportunity to enjoy an extraordinary experience of their choosing.

The idea was proposed by one of the residents and went down a treat with everyone!

“It was a wonderful and memorable day. We couldn’t have asked for more beautiful weather,” said the centre’s Acting Lifestyle Manager Bec Higgs.

“The grand carriage drawn by two Percheron Draft horses was visually mesmerising. The residents were elated and the experience was enjoyed by everyone.”

You can check out a video of the experience here.

It looks wonderful! We’re glad they had a good time.
