Whatever your opinion about our Prime Minister, you won’t be able to help laughing at this segment from the hugely popular American HBO late night news satire program, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Hailed as part of a series entitled “Presidents of countries other than the United States“, it did the rounds of the Australian media a few weeks ago. But it’s so good, it’s worth repeat viewing and sharing all over again.
You suspect it’s going to be a hoot when you hear the cliched voice-over introduction, thick with parody:
“America… Everyone knows it is the greatest nation on earth and its leaders are the greatest leaders on earth. But did you know there are other countries that are not America and each of them has its very own leader? Let’s take a moment to meet one of them in our ongoing series, Other countries’ Presidents of the United States. This week’s leader: Tony Abbott, Prime Minister of Australia…”
And you are not disappointed!
