The world was watching as US President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden squared off in this week’s presidential debate – and it might go down as 90 of the most chaotic minutes in presidential history.
The debate was dominated by Trump constantly interrupting his counterpart and Biden becoming increasingly irritated in response.
Moderator Chris Wallace, a journalist who hosts Fox News Sunday, struggled to maintain control during the event, saying at once point after raising his voice to interrupt the nominees: “Why should I be different than the two of you?”
There are hopes the next event will be more civilised.
CBS News has reported to the Commission on Presidential Debate, the non-partisan group that has organised the events since 1988, saying they would cut off the microphones if the speakers break the rules by failing to respect the time limit or interrupting during a response.
One would hope!
