Dorothy Pollack is the embodiment of the expression, “You’re never too old try a new thing”.

It’s been a rough year for Dorothy, as reported by The Washington Post, with COVID-19 restrictions significantly restricting her movements.

She turned 103 in August, and after moving in with her grandson and his partner decided to mark the occasion by doing something that she’d never done before.

“After being in COVID-19 prison, I thought it was time to start living again. I decided that a good way to celebrate was to get a tattoo,” said Dorothy.

Pollack’s grandson got in touch with a tattoo artist and they booked her first ink appointment.

And what was the subject of her first piece of ink?

Well, you can see it below.

But why a frog?

“I’ve always loved them as far back as I can remember,” she said.

“I have trinket dishes, knickknacks and yard ornaments with frogs. So why not a frog tattoo?”

The tattoo artist, Ray Reasoner Jnr, said Dorothy was by far the oldest person he’d ever tattooed.

“I really took my time and was extremely careful, and she didn’t wince once,” he said.

While another tattoo isn’t on the cards immediately, Dorothy said she still has some items she’d like to tick off her bucket list – including sky-diving.
