New app in the works to help seniors stand tall

0

StandingTall is the new app designed to help older Australians get their recommended 150 minutes of weekly exercise.

Associate Professor Kim Delbaere from Neuroscience Research Australia, alongside the team at The Project Factory are working on the app, which is currently being trialled.

Each year many Australians over 65 will experience a major fall, but the likelihood of this happened can be significantly lessened with just two hours of balance exercises a week.

StandingTall will feature more than 2,000 balance exercises, tailored to certain abilities as well as a calendar to schedule exercises sessions and goal-setting features to motivate users.

Finding the time (and inclination) to exercise each week isn’t always easy. An app like this seems like just the trick!
