Signs that life still goes on despite COVID-19.

Staff at Uniting’s Bernard Austin Lodge aged care home in Liverpool have shared pictures of a special celebration held this week for resident Evelyn Jenkins.

A hard-working woman whose career spanned raising chickens for Inghams and being a tailor for Woolworths, residents and staff spent the last month making handmade purple and gold paper flowers to decorate the room.

There was also a red-carpet welcome for the guest of honour and a mini fashion show too.

Even the home’s transport manager Mike chipped in, playing some music for the event.

We can see by the smile on Evelyn’s face that it made her day.
