Aged care and village residents cook up a storm to thank nurses on International Nurses Day

0

With the coronavirus pandemic, marking International Nurses Day on Tuesday took on a special meaning for residents at The Royce, a retirement village and aged care home in Penrith in Western Sydney this year.

Residents joined together to bake and ice biscuits (gloves included!) to be hand-delivered to the nurses at the nearby Nepean Hospital just in time for morning tea.

Bianca Tulich, Director at The Royce, said it was difficult for residents and staff to express their gratitude for the nurses.

“This emergency situation has without a doubt brought their contribution to the forefront, but we must always recognise the importance of their role in caring for us, and our families every day,”
she said.

A lovely way to say thank you.
