American woman discovers she’s been washing her hands with a block of cheese

Strange but true. A woman from Portland, Washington has gone viral after revealing to the Internet that she had been washing her hands for three days with a block of cheese.

The woman Milly posted on website Reddit that she had become suspicious after the ‘soap’ didn’t seem to be foaming.

“I use liquid soap for the dishes, bar soap like this is gentler on my hands after I do chores if that makes any sense,” she wrote.

“I come to realise it was a dried-out square of Tillamook sharp cheddar cheese. I suspect I left it out when I was intoxicated and just forgot.”

Plenty of commenters made jokes at her expense: “How to avoid the mozzarella virus,” one said.

Others were more sympathetic: “To be fair to you, it does look like a block of soap,” another wrote.

But Milly isn’t the only person to fail the ‘Is it soap?’ test, according to VICE. An American man recently posted a nine out of 10 review for a bed and breakfast in Portree, Scotland, but marked the property down for the “brown tablet bar of soap” on the bed – which turned out to be fudge.

So, wash your hands – but just check it’s with actual soap first.
