Only in America: Trump tweets photo of himself – as Rocky

0

Two weeks into the US President’s impeachment hearings and it would seem Donald Trump is keen to draw the spotlight away from his dealings with Ukraine – posting a picture of himself with his head photoshopped onto the shirtless body of Rocky Balboa – a fictional character made famous by actor Sylvester Stallone this week.

No caption accompanied the image – which immediately caught the attention of social media.

Some noted that with his McDonald’s-love physique, the US President doesn’t exactly bare a resemblance to the boxer from the classic film.

Others pointed out that Rocky actually fought against a Russian protagonist and saved the world from nuclear war.

“This is all wrong,” comedian Nick Pappas tweeted. “Rocky defeated Russia – Trump continues to hand them victories.”

It’s not the first time Mr Trump has posted a meme or doctored image that has grabbed headlines – earlier this month, he tweeted a doctored picture of himself awarding a war medal to a dog.

It would appear yet again the President has opted to distract the public from the real issues – and it’s working.
