Love it or hate it, there’s nothing more true blue than Vegemite on toast – and now you can send your expat friends their very own ‘Mitey Aussie Care Package’ for the holidays.
The package (pictured below) – which includes both women’s and men’s versions – comes with a personalised 380g Vegemite Jar, socks, a mug, 220g Vegemite Jar and a packet of Arnott’s Shapes Vegemite & Cheese.
Priced at AUD$49.95 plus between $15-30 for postage to ship to New Zealand, Canada, US and UK, Vegemite reckons it’s a bonza bargain.
“We know that our VEGE-Mates living overseas are missing the taste of Australia, especially around Christmas time, and we’re delighted to now ship Vegemite internationally,” Senior Vegemite Marketing Manager Matt Gray said in a press release.
But several overseas Aussies pointed out they’ve been buying the famous black spread from their local supermarket shelves in those countries for some time – so why would they need the care package?
Vegemite says it’s true it is widely available overseas, but says this is the first time they have started shipping the packages overseas.
Personally, I know what’s going to be under my Christmas tree this year.
