A woman who was fired after a photograph of her flipping the bird to Donald Trump’s car went viral has wound up being elected herself.
Juli Briskman, 52, has won a local government seat in Virginia, two years after losing her job as a government contractor when the image grabbed headlines globally.
The image was reportedly at the heart of Briskman’s campaign to be on the county board of supervisors in the Virginia county.
The mother-of-two previously filed a wrongful-termination lawsuit, which was dismissed, before she successfully sued for severance.
The victory is seen as major progressive wins for the traditionally conservative state, which chose Republican candidates every presidential election between 1968 and 2004.
