Aged care home slapped with fine – after residents test positive for cocaine

0

It’s not what you’d expect to find in a home supporting older people. The cocaine users were discovered at RegalCare in New Haven, Connecticut, US, when one of the centre’s residents tested positive after they were seen handing a dollar bill with white powder on it to another resident.

The resident who was handed the dollar bill had an opioid dependency and also tested positive for cocaine.

And as if two residents taking cocaine wasn’t enough, a third resident also tested positive for cocaine after they were found lying on a floor unresponsive.

Finally, a fourth resident was reported by a methadone clinic having tested positive for cocaine.

All four residents said a nurse aide had supplied them with the drugs – unsurprisingly, the nurse aide was fired.

Good riddance!
