Time to salute our aged care employees!

The 7th August is Aged Care Employee Day, an official day to thank, honour, recognise and celebrate the hundreds of thousands of people who work in the aged care service industry across Australia.

Leading Age Services Australia’s CEO, Sean Rooney says,

Aged Care Employee Day aims to put these people in the spotlight, it’s a day designed to celebrate each and every team member involved in the journey of caring for the older generation – from nurses and care workers, to the cooks and hospitality teams, the drivers, cleaners and laundry employees, to the volunteers, leisure and lifestyle officers and admin teams.”

The day was initiated by not-for-profit aged care provider Whiddon in 2018 and passed onto LASA who now co-ordinate the day.

Mr Rooney says the wonderful work of our aged care employees and the breadth of the industry is well captured in this video.

And we at The Donaldson Sisters would also like to thank you for the wonderfully caring hard work that you put into caring for our loved ones.
