Only in America: Trump slams Google for “rigging” search results against him – ignores fact that news about him is just bad

The US President made the accusation on Twitter the day after Fox News aired a clip citing statistics from conservative blogging platform PJ Media that it claimed show that Google is “censoring” Republican politicians.

“96% results on ‘Trump News’ are from National Left-Wing Media, very dangerous. Google & others are suppressing voices of Conservatives and hiding information and news that is good. They are controlling what we can & cannot see. This is a very serious situation-will be addressed!” Trump tweeted.

Google of course has denied the allegations and says its results aren’t politically biased.

But it’s no wonder that the President doesn’t like the headlines – a quick scroll brings up the negative political response to the new US trade deal with Mexico; Trump’s rejection of a plan to commemorate Senator John McCain and even a story questioning whether the President will be impeached after the recent convictions of former staff.

But his reaction could have big repercussions for free speech online – the White House has now backed Trump, saying it’s looking at regulating Google’s search results.

America – yet again, proving why it’s not the land of the free.
