South Australian man shames dog owners – with lawn poop camera

0

Words I never thought I would write. An Adelaide man has become so fed up with having to pick up dog poop from his front lawn, he installed a CCTV camera to catch the errant pet owner in the act – and laminated her picture to stick beside the offending evidence.

Pooper scooper Steve Tamblyn then posted the video to Facebook – complete with laminated photo of the ‘steaming Stanley’ – in an effort to catch the culprit.

“If anyone in the Lower Mitcham area recognizes this dog walker, please remind them to pick up their dog’s turd in front of my house,” he wrote. “Just because it’s 6:47am doesn’t mean no-one is watching.”

A turd of a problem

But while over 5,000 people have watched the clip of the ‘crime scene’, the poo detective still hasn’t cracked the case.

Mr Tamblyn told the ABC: “I’m a dog lover, I have my own dog … I’m sick of dodging parcels left on the footpath by lazy dog owners so I thought I’ll take some action here and help clean up the footpaths.”

He does think that he’s made his point however.

“There have been a lot of dog walkers though walk past and notice it, so I think this might be the last deposit left on my verge.”

Let’s hope so – I can’t handle any more s**t.
