New social media campaign seeks to break down aged care stereotypes

0

The not-for-profit Whiddon Group is running a five-part series on its Facebook page from now until November to focus on the stories it says are common in aged care but rarely see the spotlight.

Called ‘Aged Care Reimagined’, the videos show residents taking part in activities from Tai Chi to drumming, rediscovering their old passions, connecting with family and friends using technology and taking part in pet therapy.

The Group says they want to show people what aged care really is, including the benefits to residents’ health and wellbeing.

“It’s about time we reimagined the sentiment around aged care and open eyes to the goodness of our industry and its people,” CEO Chris Mamarelis says.

Well-said.
