Domino’s is fixing US roads – for pizza safety

0

Yes, it’s true. The pizza delivery giant announced this week it would give grants to up to 20 US towns and cities to pay construction crews to fill potholes – to ensure their pizzas arrive intact.

To drive the point home, they’ve even posted a video that shows in graphic detail the torturous journey their pizzas go through on a less-than-smooth surface.

The campaign isn’t entirely selfless of course – Domino’s has tagged every filled pothole with their logo and the tagline “OH YES WE DID.”

Great PR stunt or not, experts says it also underlines the drop in government spending on civic services – including roads and highways – which has fallen to its lowest level in decades, according to the US Census Bureau.

Still Domino’s customers say they prefer the branded potholes to a bumpy trip – and if it keeps their pizza structurally intact, that’s got to be a bonus?
