Village managers earn an average of just under $72,000 for according to PayScale, with salaries varying from just $50,000 up to around $105,000.
That’s despite a recent report showing salaries for other jobs in the property industry are well above the national average.
Why should we worry about village managers’ pay?
The recent Villages.com.au National Village Survey 2018 highlighted a good relationship with their village manager was an important factor in residents’ life satisfaction.
While most felt positively about their manager’s skills, about one-third of residents didn’t think that their manager had the right professional skills and knowledge.
It’s food for thought. More training and support for managers – and the salaries to match – will benefit both them and village residents and their families.
