The pensioner, who is living at the Les Jardins d’Arcadie home in Pléneuf-Val-André in north-western France, was reported missing last week after “forgetting” to tell the staff about his whereabouts for the day, France Bleu reports.

His granddaughter had raised the alarm after arriving for her usual visit and he was nowhere to be found at the nursing home.

Police immediately issued an alert for the man based on the description of the clothes he’d last been seen in and he was soon spotted – engaged in a romantic tête-à-tête with his girlfriend in town.

“They were having a stroll in the park, arm in arm,” the police said.
