After breaking the record last year – and losing it to a US man – South Australian woman Irene O’Shea has returned to the skies once more to regain the title.

Ms O’Shea took the 14,000 foot leap last weekend with a SA Skydiving instructor watched by 50 family and friends – including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren – but says she’s not an adrenaline junkie.
“As far as I’m concerned, I’m the same as everyone else, just a normal person,” she said, according to the skydiving company.
Ms O’Shea, who did her first skydive at the age of 100 to celebrate her birthday, completed the jump to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease. Ms O’Shea’s daughter died from the disease 10 years ago.
She has since raised nearly $12,000 – a fantastic effort – and is now looking to raise another $10,000.
